Day 1: Valle de Glencoe – Fort William – Isla de Skye

We will depart from our meeting point in Edinburgh – 190 High Street – at 7:30 a.m. or from Glasgow – 19 Killermont St, Glasgow G2 3NX – at 9:00 a.m. Once we have passed the historic city of Stirling and crossed Callander, we hope to encounter some hairy cows. We will stop for coffee before immersing ourselves in the incredible landscapes of the Highlands. We will continue on our route and pass Loch Lubnaig on the way, where we can delight in its beauty. The next stop will be in Glencoe Valley, where we can enjoy its breathtaking beauty. From there, we will head to Glenfinnan Valley and its famous viaduct, ending up in Fort William, where we will also stop to explore this small but important town and have lunch. From Fort William, we will take the last stretch of road before reaching the Isle of Skye. On the way, we will also visit Loch Garry, where we will have great views from a viewpoint, and make a brief photo stop to enjoy Eilean Donan Castle. At night, we will sleep in the village of Kyleakin or in accommodation located in the surrounding area, where we can enjoy the silence and tranquility of the Highlands.

Day 2: Dunvegan Castle – Portree – Trotternish Peninsula

The next day, after breakfast, we will head to Dunvegan Castle, home of the Macleod clan chief, where we will stop and have the opportunity to visit inside and admire its sea views. Afterwards, we will travel to Portree. In this charming fishing village, we can take several walking routes and visit the center and its surroundings. We will also have enough time here to have lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the stunning landscapes of the Trotternish Peninsula, where we will see the geological formation of Quiraing, the spectacular waterfall at Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr, a mountain shrouded in legend, where we will stop to take some photos. On the way back to Kyleakin, we will enjoy views of the Cuillin (the famous mountain range) and the dramatic valleys of central Isle of Skye. In high season, due to limited accommodation availability, it may be necessary to spend both nights in Inverness or the surrounding area. In this case, on the second day of the tour we will visit the most essential parts of the Isle of Skye, focusing exclusively on Portree and Trotternish, before returning to our accommodation in Inverness or the surrounding area.

Day 3: Lake Ness – Inverness – Bosque del Hermitage – Edimburgo

Before our first visit of the day to the shores of Loch Ness, we will travel through the impressive landscape of the Five Sisters of Kintail. Once at Loch Ness, we will have the opportunity to take a cruise on what is probably the most famous lake in the world and visit Urquhart Castle (combined activity, we cannot offer just one)*. Later, we will stop in Inverness where we will have time for lunch after a panoramic tour of the capital of the Highlands. On the last leg of our journey, we will make another stop in Pitlochry (optional, not guaranteed) before heading to the Hermitage. In this forest, you will find some examples of Douglas fir trees, known for their remarkable height. At the same time, you will enjoy the spectacular nature where you will encounter the force of the Braan River rapids. Also, if you are a lover of tradition and legends, you should know that this enclave holds some of the most beautiful ones.
