St Andrews is the most charming town in the county of Fife. It is bathed by the North Sea and protected by the wisdom of the third oldest university in the UK. Its cathedral and castle are exceptional witnesses to religious struggles and once housed the relics of St Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. Both for its antiquity and its history, it is one of the most iconic and beautiful towns in the country.
St Andrews is not all ruins and medieval buildings, it is also world famous for golf lovers. The Old Course is where its rules were set and remains the oldest course in the world.
Today, golf and the university are the two most important attractions of the town.
